PRO-LINE product*

Ideal for cars from the 1980s!

The reissued cult car radio “HAMBURG SQM 23 DAB” with lots of new features!

Over the years, certain models have achieved cult status. The legendary Blaupunkt "Hamburg SQM 23" from 1983 is one such example. We are now presenting a modern reinterpretation of this popular 1-DIN car radio, combining the design of the 80s original with cutting-edge technology and features. The result is the Blaupunkt "Hamburg SQM 23 DAB".

Thanks to the Blaupunkt Codem IV FM RDS tuner and DAB+ digital tuner, first-class reception remains a key strength of this classic-style radio. New additions include multimedia interfaces for modern Apple® devices and USB mass storage media for music playback. The new model also supports Bluetooth® audio streaming from mobile phone apps, such as music players or streaming services like Spotify.

You can access your mobile phone using its voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google, or Alexa) without ever having to pick up the device. Naturally, hands-free calling is also supported.

To allow for direct selection of audio sources like USB, Apple iPod, or Bluetooth, a specific button on the unit can be programmed via the menu to launch your favorite source. Device settings are permanently saved (even if the battery is disconnected). Although this is no longer necessary to conserve battery life, thanks to the minimised standby power consumption.

The new "Hamburg SQM 23 DAB" features a short installation depth – making it ideal for classic cars with limited dashboard space.

From the cassette compartment to modern media

One of the two USB ports – which allow you to play your music collection or charge your mobile phone – is concealed behind the front flap. Compact USB drives can thus be hidden from view behind the closed flap, preserving the original look.

Interesting for classic cars

The display of the Hamburg SQM 23 DAB can be set in 4,096 different colors (Variocolour) and thus adapted to the vehicle-specific cockpit lighting for a harmonious overall picture. The key labels, which were illuminated with light bulbs in the original from the 80s, are now replaced by modern and durable warm white LEDs. This lighting can also be activated via the vehicle lighting when the car radio is switched off.
